Sam is a Forensic Investigator with over 25 years of experience in the areas of evidence examinations, crime scene/shooting scene investigations, and laboratory management. During his career, he has served in both forensic and law enforcement capacities as an Agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and managed forensic laboratory sections of the Washington DC Department of Forensic Sciences and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office in Cleveland Ohio. In addition, he has consulted on hundreds of cases, including officer-involved shootings, for private attorneys, Public Defenders, District Attorney's offices, and municipal counselors. He has provided testimony in state and federal court in the areas of:
· Crime Scene Investigation and Reconstruction
· Shooting Reconstruction
· Firearm and Toolmark Identification
· Footwear and Tire Track Identification
· Forensic and Law Enforcement Firearms Training and Range Practices
Beth has over 13 years experience in forensics, working with contract and government forensic laboratories supporting firearms examination, quality assurance, and latent print processing capacities. In addition to forensic consulting, she currently serves as Forensic Science Development Coordinator through Amentum Corporation supporting US Department of Justice International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP)’s global forensics portfolio. Prior to joining ICITAP, she served as a Firearms Examiner and Quality Assurance Coordinator, managing quality documents, performing audits, and aligning practices with ISO standards. Previously she was contracted by DOJ to execute latent print processing of a variety of improvised explosive devices, including providing training to and supervising processing teams. These experiences have given her insight into high-volume laboratory efficiency and implementation of quality assurance. She has two Bachelor of Science degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University, in Forensic Science and in Criminal Justice, has been a member of the International Association for Identification (IAI) and is a current member of the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners (AFTE).
